General Degree Requirements at SPC  

The college-level educational program at South Plains College is organized into three instructional divisions.

The Arts and Sciences Division includes academic transfer options and courses of instruction that parallel those at a university and provide the first two years of study leading to a baccalaureate degree. The division is organized into 10 instructional departments that offer course work that fulfills the requirements for the Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching or Associate of Science degrees. Students many choose from 43 suggested transfer guides that parallel university program disciplines.

The Health Sciences Division includes programs of study and courses of instruction which are designed to prepare individuals for employment in the health care industry upon completion of the specified curriculum. South Plains College offers these programs on its Levelland Campus, SPC Reese Center and SPC Plainview Center. The division is organized into two departments that offer 18 individual programs and curriculum options that lead to the Associate of Applied Science degree or Certificate of Proficiency.

The Technical Education Division includes programs of study and courses of instruction that prepare individuals for employment in specific occupations in the areas of business, creative arts, computer information systems, professional services and industrial technology. South Plains College offers technical education programs at the Levelland Campus, the SPC Reese Center and the SPC Lubbock Center. The division is organized into five departments on the Levelland Campus that offer 43 individual programs and curriculum options that lead to the Associate of Applied Arts, Associate of Applied Science or Certificate of Proficiency. Programs offered at the SPC Reese Center and SPC Lubbock Center are organized into four departments that offer 29 individual programs and curriculum options. Some programs are offered at more than one campus location, while others are limited to a particular campus.
