(2:3:0) Prerequisites: MUSI 2211. This courses is a continuation of MUSI 2211 and includes advanced harmony part writing and keyboard analysis and writing of more advanced tonal harmony including chromaticism and extended terian structures; study of modulation; attendant dominants; two and three part forms, diatonic seventh chords; the song form with trio and rondo forms, and correlated study at the keyboard. The course included an introduction to 20th century compositional procedures and a survey of the traditional large forms of composition.
