CJSA 1359 - Police Systems and Practices
(3:3:0) This course explores the profession of a police officer. Topics include organization of law enforcement systems, the police role, police discretion, ethics, police-community interaction, and current and future issues. Students will understand how ethical standards outlined in the Code of Conduct influence the police role in today’s society. Specific techniques of police patrol tactics and methods will be outlined as selective enforcement procedures are used to accomplish the police mission.
