Diesel Service Technology, AAS (Major Code 6423)

Offered at the Levelland Campus

The Diesel Service Technology program is designed to train the student to service diesel powered trucks, farm tractors, buses and construction equipment. Specific areas of training include: major engine overhaul; transmission overhaul; rear axle assembly and drive line overhaul; steering gear and linkage overhaul; fuel injection systems overhaul; hydraulic system overhaul; overhaul or replacement of auxiliary equipment such as starters, generators, alternators, switches, regulators, and other miscellaneous items, including troubleshooting procedures and shop management procedures.

The following curriculum meets all the requirements for the Associate of Applied Science degree. An optional plan for the Certificate of Proficiency is also offered.

Program advisor is Whitney Owens, assistant professor of diesel service technology.

*Although not a requirement for this degree, students are strongly encouraged to take HUDV 1100 during the first semester of enrollment.
