Residential Air Conditioning Installation Technician Certificate (Major Code 7221C)

Offered at the Levelland Campus

Students may elect to complete the following curriculum and receive a Certificate of Proficiency in Residential Air Conditioning Installation Technology. This certificate is designed to give the student the fundamental knowledge of residential air conditioning split systems with the maximum capacity of 60,000 BTU’s. It does not include heat pump technology or the ability to service, maintain or troubleshoot air conditioning systems. This is a TSI-waived certificate but requires a Capstone Experience: To qualify for the Certificate of Proficiency, the student must pass ARI’s Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Industry Competency Exam.

*Although not a requirement for this certificate, students are strongly encouraged to take HUDV 1100 during the first semester of enrollment.
**HART 1403 requires concurrent enrollment in TECM 1303 or MATH 1314.
***HART 1407 requires concurrent enrollment in HART 1256.
