HART, Residential Air Conditioning Installation Technician Certificate (Major Code 7221C)

Offered at the Levelland Campus

Students may elect to complete the following curriculum and receive a Certificate of Proficiency in Residential Air Conditioning Installation Technician. This certificate is designed to give the student the fundamental knowledge of residential air conditioning split systems with the maximum capacity of 60,000 BTU’s. It does not include heat pump technology or the ability to service, maintain or troubleshoot air conditioning systems.

To qualify for the Certificate of Proficiency, the student must pass the ESCO Institution Exam in the final semester of the program.

This is a TSI-waived certificate. Students declaring this major are not subject to TSI regulations unless they enroll in a course outside the prescribed curriculum.

Program advisor is Benny Morris, assistant professor of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology.

*Although not a requirement, students are strongly encouraged to take EDUC 1100 during the first semester of enrollment.
