Video Production Technology AAS (Major Code 8445)

The Video Production Technology program is designed to provide individuals with preparation and experience for entry-level video production technical positions. Graduates will possess basic knowledge of techniques, procedures and operation of equipment used in the video production industry. This includes training in television and audio production, graphics, lighting and editing. Students may choose from three specialty areas to focus their education and training: video production technology, music emphasis and electronic news emphasis.

Students who successfully complete the curriculum, which includes a Capstone Experience during the final semester of the program, will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree.

Program advisors are Greg Cook, instructor in video production technology; and Tom Stalcup, assistant professor of video production technology.

*Although not a requirement for this degree, students are strongly encouraged to take EDUC 1100 during the first semester of enrollment.
