This certificate option provides the basic skills for employment in the cinema and video field and can be combined with other certificates and/or Associates degrees to add video skills and knowledge to those seeking degrees in Sound Technology, Graphic Arts or other media related fields. Students will work in post-production environments, such as making movies, commercials, documentaries, and music videos, as well as working in live production environments, working on the set of live concerts, newscasts, and other live events. This includes training in cameras, composition, audio production, graphics, lighting, and editing.
Students who complete the following curriculum receive a Certificate of Proficiency. To qualify for the Certificate of Proficiency, the student must complete a Capstone experience in the final semester of the program.
This is a TSI-waived certificate. Students declaring this major are not subject to the TSI regulations unless they enroll in a course outside the prescribed curriculum.
