The commercial music curriculum is designed to provide the basic skills to equip the student to work in the field of popular commercial music, including rock, country and bluegrass styles.  The curriculum meets all requirements for the Associate of Applied Arts degree.

Program advisors are: Brent Wheeler, program coordinator and assistant professor of commercial music; Allie Maddox, instructor in commercial music.

Commercial Music Enhanced Skills Certificate

The Commercial Music Enhanced Skills Certificate exists as an extension of the Commercial Music Associate of Applied Arts degree and can only be awarded after the student has successfully completed the Associate of Applied Arts degree and the following courses:

  • MUSC 1330 Computer Music Notation                  
  • MUSC 2311 Sight Singing and Ear Training II       
  • MUSP 1201 Private lesson in Arr. And Comp.
