Offered at the Levelland Campus and Plainview Extension Center 

This is a one semester program, focusing on education and teaching methods for career education in Cosmetology. The program prepares the student in many areas such as curriculum development, lesson plan preparation, classroom management and presentations. Students completing this curriculum receive a Certificate of Proficiency and are eligible to apply to take the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licensure exam for Cosmetology Instructor.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                In addition to meeting the general requirements of South Plains College, students who wish to enter the Cosmetology Instructor Program must make a separate application to the program and interview with the program coordinator. Entering students must have an active Texas Cosmetology Operator License and these requirements must be completed prior to class start date .
