Offered at the Levelland Campus and at the Lubbock CTE Center
Students may elect to complete the following curriculum and receive a Certificate of Proficiency in Automotive Technology with emphasis in automotive suspension, brakes, and electrical systems. To qualify for the Certificate of Proficiency, the student must complete a Capstone Experience in the final semester of the program.
This is a TSI- waived certificate. Students declaring this major are not subject to the TSI regulations unless they enroll in a course outside the prescribed curriculum.
The Automotive Technology program prepares students to enter an occupation where industrial safety is a critical competency and will require all students to successfully complete a program specific safety examination prior to participating in laboratory activities. Safety examination includes written and practical “hands-on” preparation, demonstration, and safe operation of occupational processes and equipment.
Program advisor for the Levelland Campus is Gary Ham, Assistant Professor of Automotive Aechnology. Program advisor for the Lubbock Center is Gary Ufford, Professor of Automotive Technology.
