CRIJ 1306 - Court Systems and Practices (3:3:0) This course examines the role of the judiciary in the criminal justice system. Topics include the structure of the American court system, prosecution, right to counsel, pre-trial release, grand jury process, adjudication process, types and rules of evidence, and sentencing concepts. Semester Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Note: In addition, students will receive instruction in civil law, civil process, and civil court practices.
