Offered at the Levelland Campus. The Sound Technology program is designed to provide individuals with preparation and experience for entry-level recording engineer positions. Graduates will possess basic knowledge of techniques, procedures, and operation of equipment used in the studio recording industry. This includes training in selection and placement of microphones, analysis of acoustical environments, use of effects, troubleshooting, engineering, and production techniques. Completion of the program curriculum meets the requirements for the Associate of Applied Science degree. To qualify for the A.A.S. degree, the student must complete a Capstone Experience in the final semester of the program. The Sound Technology program prepares students to enter an occupation where electrical safety is a critical competency and will require all students to successfully complete a program-specific safety examination prior to participating in laboratory activities. Safety examination includes written and practical “hands-on” preparation, demonstration, and safe operation of occupational processes and equipment.  Program advisors based upon student’s last name:  A-G:  Stuart Moody, Dept.
